What is Mental Health?

Mental HealthMental health is described as, “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.” 

Mental health involves the ability to balance the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of life. Mental wellness means being able to enjoy life and effectively handle day-to-day challenges. (CAMH)

When emotional well-being is affected
Experiencing significant distress and interference with important aspects of life such as work, school, and relationships, can lead to mental health problems.

Mental health problems affect people of all ages, and income, educational and occupational levels.
